Daman and Diu

Daman and Diu is the second smallest union territory that is situated on the west of India and holds two different areas separated by the Arabian Sea. Daman is a pleasing small city flanked by Gujarat and Maharashtra. Diu is a little island and coastal town. The greenery and cool beaches explain the natural splendor of the Daman and Diu when legal and cheap liquor festoons this popular haven for youths. The huge forts, majestic cathedrals among the attractive monuments of the place radiates the historical beauty of its colonial regime. Apart from natural charisma and ancient beauty, Daman and Diu offer water adventures on the beaches with white sand. The white sandy secluded beaches are quite inviting and offer many opportunities for water sports. The favorable climate invites nature and adventure enthusiasts to the place throughout the year.

Daman and Diu remained a colony owned by the Portuguese, even when the nation achieved Independence. In 1961, it became one of the main areas of India and finally, on May 30, 1987, it achieved the title of Union Territory.
