Daman and Diu

Daman and Diu is the second smallest union territory that is situated on the west of India and holds two different areas separated by the Arabian Sea. Daman is a pleasing small city flanked by Gujarat and Maharashtra. Diu is a little island and coastal town. The greenery and cool beaches explain the natural splendor of the Daman and Diu when legal and cheap liquor festoons this popular haven for youths. The huge forts, majestic cathedrals among the attractive monuments of the place radiates the historical beauty of its colonial regime. Apart from natural charisma and ancient beauty, Daman and Diu offer water adventures on the beaches with white sand. History

Daman and Diu remained a colony owned by the Portuguese, even when the nation achieved Independence. In 1961, it became one of the main areas of India and finally, on May 30, 1987, it achieved the title of Union Territory.

Devka Beach

Devka beach is a pure and pristine beach, away from the hustle & bustle of the city. It is a picturesque and placid beach preserving blue waters and clean shores which are so mesmerizing to entice just anybody. For kids, the beach has an amusement park that embodies fountains and plays areas. Undoubtedly, this is a perfect holiday haven for old and new couples.

 

Naida Caves

At a small distance from the Diu Fort, the Naida Caves is an association of interconnected caves built by the Portuguese and a huge network of unexplored tunnels.

Mirasol Lake Garden

Couched about 1.5 km from Devka beach, Mirasol Lake Garden is a human-made craftily curated pond flanked by a pretty lake and two islands that are linked by a bridge. Fountains, Pedal boats, Toy trains that go around the lake, a cricket field with the auto-bowling machine, and a play area for kids make a perfect picture place. The place perfectly described the combination of natural beauty with artificial designs to give you all that you seek.

 

Gangeshwar Mahadev Temple

Nestled 3 km away from Diu, the Gangeshwar Temple is an ancient temple dedicated to lord shiva in the scenic and serene Fudam town of Gujarat. This temple which is believed to have been designed and constructed by the Pandavas is renowned for the five Shiva Lingas that are there in the center of the sea.

For the strong healing energies and powerful feelings, a few glimpses of this temple, submerged in the water-tides, are enough to raise your vibes. 

 

St. Jerome Fort

Also known as the Nani Daman Fort, St Jerome Fort is a huge statue of St. Jerome- one among the most respected fathers in the Catholic Church. Gateway facing the river, Church of our Lady of the Sea, Jain Temple are some of the attractions of this place. You can also capture the views of the fish market that is located below, from this standing fort. 

 

Sunset Point

Sunset Point is an amazing hillock at a small distance from the Chakritirath beach in Diu. The visitors can see and capture the beautiful views of the sunset from here. The Sunset Point has been wonderfully landscaped and well-illuminated to steal the soul of the perceiver. Standing on the lighthouse makes you feel free and offers you the feeling of liberty, joy, and surrender.

 

Jampore Beach 

Situated just 5 km away from the Moti Daman Jetty, Jampore beach is one of the most mesmerizing tourist destinations in Daman. The beach is famous for its blackish mud-pigmented water. The beach is a perfect destination for those seeking a week away in serenity and solitude. Carpeted with trees throughout, this is a breezy place for the rapturous feel.
